Shale
Shale: a sedimentary rock that is usually composed of clay minerials, with some quartz and calcite mix in.
Geographic Location: Shale is located through out the world in areas of fromer slow moving water.
Geologic Influences: Shale forms through the process of compaction- with layer of layer sediment particles compacted together.
Subtypes: Black shale- formed from unoxidized carbon produced anoxic environments like stagnant water.
Structural Considerations: The structure of shale usually occurs below near other rock types like limestone
